A system that travels from patient to patient earns differently than one that sits in a dedicated room, and Fujifilm Sonosite built the Edge II around that clinical reality. The Sonosite Edge II is a compact, rugged portable ultrasound designed for emergency medicine, critical care, and point-of-care clinical environments where the scanner needs to survive high-volume use, move between patients quickly, and deliver consistent images across multiple transducer types without elaborate setup. It is one of the more widely deployed POCUS systems in emergency departments and hospitalist programs in the United States, with an installed base that reflects years of durability in demanding clinical settings.

The Edge II is a single-transducer-connection system (one probe at a time), keeping the interface simple in fast-moving environments. Pricing on new units varies by probe selection but typically lands somewhere in the $20k–$45k band per unit, which means individual units often fall below our $50,000 financing minimum. Multi-unit purchases or packages that include a service contract and multiple probes usually clear the minimum comfortably. The full Fujifilm Sonosite lineup is available through our program, including the more advanced X-Porte and PX platforms for groups that need premium point-of-care capability.

Questions About Sonosite Edge II Financing

Review the common timing, documentation, and equipment questions before sending the quote.

My single Edge II purchase is only $35,000. Can I still use your program?

A single Edge II at that price point falls below our $50,000 minimum. To clear the floor, bundle the purchase with a multi-probe package and a service contract. If the total reaches $50,000 or above, we can finance it. If you cannot get there, Sonosite's own vendor financing or a business credit line is likely a faster path for a transaction at that size.

We are buying five Edge II units for a multi-site ED program. Can we get a single approval for all five?

Yes. Fleet transactions are common and work well under our program. We write one approval on the combined amount, with one monthly payment covering all five units. The fleet can be deployed to different sites without changing the financing structure. This is typically faster and simpler than five separate applications.

How does the Edge II hold residual value for a sale-leaseback transaction?

The Edge II is a high-use portable platform with a smaller collateral value than a premium cart system. Sale-leaseback is available on paid-off units but the cash advance will be modest given the system's relatively low secondary market price. For a larger capital transaction, consider the Edge II's resale value as a supplement to other practice equity rather than a primary capital source.

Our health system's finance department wants a capital lease structure. Does that work for the Edge II?

Yes. A $1 buyout lease (capital lease) is available and creates the financing structure your finance department expects for a capital asset. The system appears on your balance sheet as a leased asset, and you pay a nominal $1 to take ownership at term end. We can document the transaction as a capital lease per your institutional requirements.

Can I finance a used Edge II bought from a dealer that refurbishes Sonosite equipment?

Yes. Refurbished Edge II units from established medical equipment dealers are financeable. The dealer's refurbishment documentation and any included warranty help the underwriting process. Confirm the system is functional and provide the serial number; we will take it from there.
