The scan moves to where the patient is, not the other way around. The Philips Lumify is a transducer-only ultrasound platform that plugs into an Android or iOS device and delivers diagnostic-grade imaging without a cart, a dedicated workstation, or a fixed room. Clinicians carrying it through an emergency department, a rural clinic, or a patient's home get the same core imaging capability that used to require a machine with wheels. Financing the Lumify, or a fleet of them, fits the same portable logic: the transaction needs to be light, fast, and sized to the actual cost of entry.

Lumify configurations are typically lower-cost than cart-based systems, but multi-probe bundles, software subscriptions, and fleet acquisitions of several units regularly cross the $50,000 minimum we work with. Application-only approval up to roughly $400,000 means a practice acquiring a fleet for multiple providers can move without a full financial documentation package. Most transactions close in one to two weeks.

Questions About Philips Lumify Financing

Review the common timing, documentation, and equipment questions before sending the quote.

Can I finance a Lumify subscription alongside the probe hardware?

Yes. Philips offers the Lumify on a subscription basis for the software access, and when combined with the hardware cost, the total transaction can be financed. We are generally more comfortable financing the hardware outright and treating ongoing software subscription fees as an operating expense, but we can discuss structure depending on how Philips has packaged the offering.

We want to equip 12 providers with individual Lumify kits. Can all 12 be one financing deal?

Yes. Fleet acquisitions of multiple Lumify units are financed as a single transaction. We fund to the vendor for the total purchase, and the monthly payment covers the full fleet. It is simpler than managing 12 separate transactions and typically produces better terms than individual smaller deals.

Does the tablet or mobile device need to be included in the financing?

We can include compatible tablets or devices in the financing if they are being purchased specifically for use with the Lumify and appear on the vendor invoice. We do not finance general-purpose tablets being purchased independently of the Lumify transaction.

Is the Lumify a good option for a solo provider just starting a concierge practice?

It can be, depending on the scope of scanning the practice intends to perform. The Lumify is capable for screening, procedural guidance, and basic diagnostic imaging. If the practice plans to perform detailed cardiac or vascular studies, a cart with more probe options and a larger screen may serve better. We can finance either path.

Can I use Section 179 on Lumify hardware?

Yes. The hardware component of a Lumify purchase qualifies as depreciable business property eligible for Section 179 deduction in the year placed in service, subject to IRS limits. Consult your accountant on the current deduction limit and how it interacts with your overall equipment purchases for the tax year.
